Speaking to local economic leaders last week, Senator John Sununu told the crowd to stop complaining about the sky-rocketing cost of healthcare and that they shouldn’t bother to worry any more because there is no solution for the foreseeable future. Senator Sununu proved once again that he has little interest in addressing the healthcare crisis or trying to make healthcare more affordable for New Hampshire families.
The reason there has been no solution to the healthcare crisis is that Sen. Sununu along with his Republican cronies in Washington have been more worried about helping insurance companies profit billions than in addressing the healthcare crisis in this country.
According to opensecrets.org, over the course of his career, Sununu has taken $288,238 from the health care industry, including both individual donations and PAC money. His largest contributor over the course of his career has been Fisher Scientific International, a medical supply company that has donated $61,500 to Sununu.
Sununu also strongly supported President Bush's plan to privatize Social Security, a plan that put seniors' security at risk.
